Gelati Rehabilitation Committee and its partner institutions prepare academic, popular scientific and educational publications related to the monument. These publications will contribute to public awareness and promotion of the monument. Works on the “The Handbook-Gelati” are in progress. The project is supported by “The Society Iveriisa”, Academia Europaea Tbilisi Knowledge Hub, which is a branch of the UK-based charitable, non-governmental organization European Academy (Academia Europaea) in the South Caucasus and Eastern Partnership countries of the European Union.
The publication will be multidisciplinary and will include contributions in related fields of more than twenty-five scholars from different generations of the country's scientific and educational institutions.
The academic editor of the book is Professor Zaza Skhirtlaze of the Tbilisi State University.
"The Handbook - Gelati" will be a great contribution to a better understanding of the monument, it will assist specialists in the field and the public interested in Christian culture. It aims to collect the existing material about Gelati, including previously unknown data. The publication will include topics related to archaeology, history, philology, Gelati Academy, architecture, fine arts, iconography, music and kymography. The publication of the book is planned for the end of 2024.
