One of the priorities of the Gelati Rehabilitation Committee is the development of educational programs, which are planned and implemented in close cooperation with the partner institutions. Supporters and partners of Gelati Rehabilitation Committee include “The Society Iveriisa”, Georgian Public Broadcaster, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Giorgi Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation, Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Kutaisi Technological University and other organizations.
The educational programs aim to provide information about the past, present and plans of the Gelati Monastic complex to the society, to present the state-religious or cultural-historical significance of Gelati as an institution, and to raise public awareness.
Various programs are developed and will be implemented in the near future. These programs include activities such as public lectures, round table discussions, youth camps, field schools, educational programs on TV and social media, etc. They intended to reach different segments of society and have a large target audience, including students, teachers, the local population, the general public from different regions of Georgia or foreigners visiting the site. Georgian and foreign experts involved in the rehabilitation of the monument are actively participating in the implementation of educational programs.
