From March 2024, conservation of the wall paintings at the Gelati monastery complex was resumed. British experts Stephen Rickerby and Lisa Shekede - the leaders of the wall painting conservation intervention, have arrived in Georgia to undertake research and conservation activities together with Georgian specialists in accordance with the conservation program. The current phase of the intervention includes  test interventions, as well as the planned invasive studies on the critical sections identified as a result of the research.
