On February 16, the Gelati Rehabilitation Committee held another coordination meeting in the Management Plan update process. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chair of the Committee, Archimandrite Kirion, the National Scientific Council, specialists and the management plan working group. Along with the progress report, the working group presented the draft outline of the attributes of the Outstanding Universal Value and their monitoring indicators, which is among the requests of the 2023 World Heritage Committee decision 45 COM. 7B.54 .
According to the World Heritage Convention and its Operational Guidelines, preserving the attributes of the Outstanding Universal Value is the basis of any intervention in the world heritage property and its setting. Hence, the attributes and monitoring indicators for Gelati World Heritage will serve as a primary reference for guiding the property's management, conservation and rehabilitation.
