In order to fulfill one of the recommendations of the World Cultural Heritage Center, a safe-inventory scaffolding was constructed in the eastern wing of the Cathedral of the Virgin of Gelati. The mosaic, according to the initial assessment, clearly needs conservation activities. This type of safe scaffolding will allow scientists and specialists to work on the unique mosaic of the apse of the sanctuary.
