 A project Specialist and wall paintings conservator in the department of Building & Sites at the Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles. Committed to improving approaches and strategies for protecting and conserving cultural heritage sites, she has worked in China at the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang and at the Imperial Mountain Resort and its Outlying Temples in Chengde; in Egypt at the tomb of Tutankhamen and the Valley of the Queens, Luxor; and in Myanmar/Burma at the site of Bagan. Trained in Conservation at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, Lori also holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Fellow and current Member of Council of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC) and is a member of the US National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (US/ICOMOS) helping to relaunch the International Scientific Committee for Mural Paintings (ISCMP). She was awarded the Rome Prize in Historic Preservation and Conservation from the American Academy in Rome in 2019. She is the author of numerous publications including, The Conservation of Cave 85 at the Mogao Grottoes, Dunhuang.
