Prof. Francesca PiquéUniversity of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, Professor and Wall Paintings Conservator

A wall paintings conservator trained at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Piqué also holds an undergraduate degree in Chemistry (University of Florence) and a Master's degree in Science for Conservation (University of London). She worked from 1991 to 2004 at the Getty Conservation Institute on several multidisciplinary projects focusing on the conservation of immovable heritage, such as wall paintings, bas-relief, mosaics, and archaeological sites. Since 2009 Piqué has been employed as teacher and researcher at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). In 2011 she was nominated Professor of Science Applied to Conservation of Cultural Heritage. Piqué is the author of three books and over 50 articles in the field of conservation of wall paintings.
