Following paragraph 4 of decision #44COM7B.47, adopted at the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee, and recommendation 4 of the report of the joint WHC/ICOMOS/ICCROM advisory mission to Gelati (28 Nov. - 2 Dec. 2022), to bring Gelati under a single temporary roofing, the Gelati Rehabilitation Committee negotiated with the German company Layer, a global leader in performing similar works. As a result of thecollaborative effort between Layer and a Georgian architect, the preparation of both the architectural and construction projects for the roof was completed. Currently, the project budgeting and priceagreement procedures are underway.
